World Ballet Grand Prix Organizing Committee |
General Information |
○ The World Ballet Grand Prix-New York is open to participants from 8 to 22 years old regardless of nationality. ○ It is available for participants to participate in semi-finals of any regions in the world to be eligible for the final in Moscow. ○ It is obligatory that Solo participants attend in all of 4 master classes, 2 variations, 1 variation Coach, 3 performance rehearsals, and Gala performance. ○ It is obligatory that Ensemble dance attend in all of 4 master classes, 1 performance rehearsals, and 2 performance. ○ Participants can choose any variations from classical ballet repertories. However, the chosen variations should be appropriate from the viewpoint of the age and technique level of participants. ○ Pointe shoes are not allowed for participants in Pre-Junior (A) division. Pre-Junior (B) participants can choose whether to wear pointe shoes or not. ○ It's not allowed to wear a costume for the first variation in Round 1. Girls wear black leotard and chiffon skirt. Boys wear a white leotard, black tights, white socks, and white shoes. However, it's mandatory to wear a costume for the second variation on the stage in Round 2. ○ The copyrights to all photographs and images taken during the competition belong to the WBGP. Participant is considered to agree with that the copyrights belong to the WBGP upon submitting the application. Solo & Ensemble Dance

Classic Solo Divisions |
1. WBGP is open to dance students all nationalities age 8~22 years old. 2. The first and second variation must be the same one for Pre-Junior (A) and Pre-Junior (B). 3. For Junior(A) Junior (B), Senior (A), and Senior (B), the first and second variation could be either the same one or not.

The variation time limit is 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Classic Ensemble dance Divisions |
Solo participants can also participate in the Ensemble dance.
※ Ensemble dance will be divided into three or more participants, with an age of more than 50%. |

The variation time limit is 7 minutes.

Contemporary Solo Divisions |
WBGP is open to dance students all nationalities age 9~25 years old.

The variation time limit is 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Solo participants can also participate in the Ensemble dance
※ Ensemble dance will be divided into three or more participants, with an age of more than 50%. |

Judging Regulations |
1. The total score to select the finalists consists of 80% of judges’ scores and 20% of class teachers’ scores. 2. Two ballet classes a day and variation on the stage are evaluated. Also, there will be rehearsals daily for three days 3. The Finalists for Moscow and prize winners are determined after Round 2. 4. Special prizes and scholarship recipients are also determined after Round 2 and they could be selected regardless of winning prizes. |

Application Form |
1. Go to www.worldballetgrandprix.org and download WBGP-New York application form and email to wbgp-newyork@worldballetgrandprix.org 2. As your application is processes, you will be received guidance email and then pay the registration fee. 3. The competition schedule will be also sent to each individual after registration process is done. |
Registration Fee and Refund |
1. Registration period for WBGP-New York is from January 20, 2020 to February 28, 2020. The Solo registration fee of 300 US$ must be paid by to February 28, 2020. The registration fee includes 3 master classes, 2 variations, 1 variation Coach, 3 performance rehearsals, and Gala performance. 2. Registration period for WBGP-New York is from January 20, 2020 to February 28, 2020. The Solo for contemporary registration fee of 200 US$ must be paid by to February 28, 2020. The registration fee includes 2 master classes, 2 performance rehearsals, and one solo performance. 3. Registration period for WBGP-New York is from January 20, 2020 to February 28, 2020. The Ensemble dance registration fee of 45 US$ (per person) must be paid by to February 28, 2020. The registration fee includes 1master class, 1 performance rehearsals, and 1 performance. 4. Refund of the fee is not considered in principle. In the case of a doctor's letter is submitted, the refund can be made by the decision of the committee or judges’ committee. 5. If a classical solo participant re-enters to contemporary dance or participates in an ensemble dance: * Classic Solo Participants- If you add up to modern dance, you pay only $ 100 more and if you participate in the ensemble dance, you pay $ 30 more. * If you participate in Classical Solo, Contemporary Dance Solo and Ensemble Dance, the total fee is $ 400. |

Submission of Music |
1. Participants must prepare his/her music for the competition. 2. The music file must be attached along with the application form as it is submitted. 3. Music files should be either wave file or mp3. 4. Participants can change music by sending an email with new music no later than 1 week prior to the competition. If you don’t receive the reply email, please reconfirm it. WBGP is not responsible for that. |
